Kittens, Puppies, Babies and Coloring Tutorial

Season's Greetings Meow

You can`t miss this fun and colorful new cretion by Kitty  a new Guest Designer on the Team.:This month I have the pleasure of being a guest designer for Nicecrane Designs! Ignacio's vintage images and digis are some of my favourites, and I am having fun with them! Today's card features a a pair of kitties wearing little bonnets from the Vintage Funny Kittens set. I inked around the edges with distress ink to give it a vintage look.

I decided to make a Christmas card this time. The Vintage Funny Kittens are perfect for any occasion! I did some stamping here as well. Last week I won a Clearly Besotted Stamps gift voucher in a blog hop, and I couldn't wait to use my new Flight of Fancy stamp and die. Just love this set! I also stamped a rubber stamp sentiment on the music dp. Then I added lots of fun items from my stash to make it interesting. The corrugated cardboard strip is recycled from an envelope that came in the mail.

Here are the other supplies used:

Designer Paper: Lawn Fawn Snow Day (bought this with a voucher I won in a giveaway recently - thank you, Fiki)
Stamps: Butterfly (Clearly Besotted Flight of Fancy), sentiment (Paper Pleasures)
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy
Dies: Clearly Besotted Flight of Fancy, Impression Obsession Cat Set

Oh Baby Card

If you love Babies,,,,Then you´ll enjoy watching this cute, cute and so swee card by Avril :It's another baby card! yes, you will have seen quite a few this year and hopefully this is the last - until January when I will need to start again. So, when Ignacio of Nicecrane Designs sent meBringing Life Sweet Kids sheet to work with, his timing couldn't have been better, and I just had to use this gorgeous baby.
I printed the image on white linen card layered on a scalloped circle. The background is embossed with CB Swiss Dots and one of their border folders and a couple of scored lines. Simple but effective.

I really love the elegant and color combo on this baby card by Avril

Coloring Puppies Tutorial by Toni

Try Mixing Different Colouring Mediums

I am really surprise for the high quality on this coloring sheets,,,by Toni at my DT,,,,love it, love it , love it,,,,thanks a million my friend,:..Don't be afraid to use different colouring mediums on the same piece.

Ignacio of Nicecrane Designs, recently asked me to have a go at colouring images from one of his new collections - he wanted examples on white & a darker background. So I printed some images onto some smooth white CS and some Neenah CS in 'Desert Storm' (pale kraft colour).

Here are the images printed out...

...and as you can see, the subject matter is some playful pups.Grabbing my Spectrum Noir pens, I made a start on the white CS and started with some basic shades to start things off...

...I swept over the background with some CG1 (citrus green) and started to colour the pup with TN3 & TN6 from the tan range but I wanted to try the image on the kraft CS...

...some white pencil quickly started to bring the image to life and some biscuit shades started to bring dimension to the image...

I really love this coloring style,,,,,,Absolutely a play of art, Toni

...but the pencils were not strong enough to create sufficient colour in the background so I decided to mix in some Spectrum Noir pens...

Love it, love it, love it, Toni.

...as you can see, the pencils and pens work well together.
I returned to finish off the image on the white CS and kept mainly to the pens...

and this one is so bright, so colorful,,, you are Rock, Toni,

...except for the pup in the water - he was given a touch of white pencil to 'tone-down' the tan colour slightly. Here are the two completed images...

...the colour of the background CS really does give a different effect to the two pieces but so does mixing your colouring mediums. I'm sure some of you have watched demonstrators colour with alcohol pens and then they will use pencils (Prisma colour/Spectrum Noir) to highlight specific areas. What I wanted to show here was the fact that you can colour different areas of an image with different colouring mediums to produce the finish that you want.

The puppy on the kraft CS coloured with pencils looks very different from the puppy on the white CS coloured with alcohol pens but each works in its own way.

This set of images (by Cecil Aldin) is just one of the many fabulous sets that you can find over at the Nicecrane Design site and if you are looking for some inspiration as to how to use them, the DT over at the Nicecrane blog have lots of super ideas to share with you - please do hop over and take a look.

You can use these images to create unique and amazing  cards, bags and anything you can imagine:

Halloween Tags

Halloween is coming ,so I am showing you an unique and scary Halloween Tag by Jane working with my "

At the weekend I decided to make another Halloween tag and first made up an inky background. I added a pop of green and purple just like the pots I had seen. I used a variety of Tim Holtz Distress ink and blended them together. I also add a few flicks of water and then stamped one of his grunge stamps using Archival Ink. The edge was coloured with Vintage Photo DI

I also wanted to used another of Ignacio's fun vintage images. These are available here. The sentiment is also from Nicecane  Here is my finished tag

The branch is Memory Box and the leaf die is by Cheery Lynn. I have inked them with DIs
