Autumnal Birds, Cute Christmas Cards & Creative Treat Cones

How time flies, it’s Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More, Challenge #60 – Photo Inspiration. I am sponsoring Thi9s challenge,,,,so go ahead..

The winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to spend at online store. Pop over tothe shop and have a look what fabulous images $20 can buy you …

… and the photo to take your inspiration from is …

As you can see, there is lots of scope here. You got flowers, fruit, pumpkins, leaves, autumn colours to mention just a few.

Monika Skinner used one of my  Nicecrane image I decided on and had a play with. It is from the Birds Family CS collection of 5 pre-coloured images. Here it is, my DT piece for this week:

I went with colours autumn colours and leaves for my inspiration. The bird images make for quick and easy cards ideal for any occasion. I simply printed the image, cut it out and layered it as shown in the picture after running a black inkpad along the edges.

Before you ask … the writing on the DS paper is side on because I liked the vertical broken line effect rather than going for stripes.

I have some more creations made using Nicecrane Designs digi stamps/images. It is a sort of continuation of yesterday’s DT post for Addicted to Stamps and More (ATSM). As you well know I am also designing for Nicecrane Designs, and given that Ignacio is sponsoring this month’s challenges at ATSM, I shall be posting lots more projects using his images.

A True Play of Art,,,,,,,(OMG) I am falling in love with this card by Monika.

I used this beautiful image of birds in the snow to make this simply sparkling traditional Christmas card. I copied and pasted the image into a word document, set the image width to 7.5 cm, something I did for all of the bird images, and printed the image on white card.

I cut my image and layered it on a piece of black card stock. For my background I embossed a piece of foiled card with snowflakes and layered it on black card stock. I layered my image onto my background off-set from the centre as shown and added a ribbon down one side and adhered it to my base card. I then die cut two snowflakes from holographic card, added a brad to the middle before adhering them to the card and finishing off by adding a Peel-Off sentiment.

Cute Christmas Images...

Catherine was working to create these incredible cute Xmas gift bags, I think these images from Nicecrane Designs are really sweet... They are from the set "Christmas Children Greetings", and I have made quite a few gift bags using them... Here is one...

Recipe : Papers from Marianne Design - Corners and Snowflakes : Dies from Marianne Design - Letters : Die from Tim Holtz - Sorry but I can't remember the brand of the Bell die !!!

My gift bag will enter the challenge "Use 3 Main Colours" with Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas (It is brown, white and red) and the challenge with Sketchy Colors as I have used their sketch for the front of my bag... Here it is...Here is another bag I have made using another image from the same set...

I think these little children are so cute ! I love their little faces !

Aren`t They really cute and all over so adorable ones?

Mitra Lee also was working with this cute collection and she did these amazing 4 different colorful Xmas Cards adding a stunning colorful flower,,,,,,love it, love it,,,,,waht a creative you are Mitra.

 Colorful Christmas Cards (by Mitra)

I feel like a bit of an over-achiever posting Christmas cards in early October, but Ignacio's amazing images over at Nicecrane really inspired me to get them done. The colors on these images are awesome! They are vibrant without being overpowering. Really liked how they turned out.

I I am a big fan of images. I think it's a great way to get a bit of digital into your layers. So the best of both worlds. Plus super quick if you print a couple 12 by 12 sheets out of them set to business card size!

I actually brought these cards in a kit to the recent Crop and Create in Cornwall, Ontario that I attended this past weekend. I wanted to give myself an easy assembly task so I could get the lay of the land.

The nearly free flowers were pre-made ages and ages ago so I had that advantage as well! Good thing since I was in a cupcake eating frenzy for most of the evening. Talk about distracted scrappin!

SO....YOU CAN`T MISS THIS COLLECTION

Adorable Chritstmas Card

Jane was playing with several ofimages:  " and I will share some other cards I made with them over the coming weeks. Below is a close up of the great image I used; you can nearly hear those sleigh bells can't you!"

The image is from Nicecrane Designs from one of my favourite of the Christmas ACEO background sheets called "Adorable Christmas" They are a perfect size for using on 5" X 5" cards. They would also make fab gifts tags, which is another of my planned projects.
I used my lovely new snowflake embossing plate and some MB snowflake die cuts. Behind the image is a great Joy craft die.The new sweet snowman is a retired Sizzix die I managed to get from the USA. I used them to layer up a nearly white on white background. I just added a little TH Broken China distress ink to give a touch of blue. The sentiment is LOTV stamped onto Kraft card and the sweet reindeer charm is from my jewellery stash. There are also 2 pale blue pearls in the corners.

Monika ¨Skinner also was working with this so versatile sheet,,,,so enjoy watching her incredible cards:
Where has this month gone??? Sorry you had to wait until the end to see some more of my creations made using Nicecrane Designs digi stamps/images.

Here are my creations:

For this card her I used one of the images from the Adorable Christmas Set, cut it out leaving a narrow white border and edged it with some dark blue ink before layering it on a piece of white card. I then dry embossed a snowflake border on a piece of dark blue card and cut a frame from white card and layered it up as shown. I finished the card off with a stamped sentiment and some gems and glitter

For my next two cards I used images from the same set:

For this card I simply punched a star border down one side of some dark brown card and layered my image as shown on the brown card and then on some golden glimmer paper before adhering it to my base card. I finished off by doodling a border with a golden glitter gel pen.

Again I used some glimmer paper to show off a punched border as my background for this lovely image.

HERE IS THIS AMAZING SHEET

But That is not all,,,,,,Monika also did this another Christmas Card:
My next card uses one image from the Retro Christmas Set:

I printed the image 3x and cut two of the images along the tree as you can see in the picture before layering them as shown on a piece of red card. I the die-cut my border from white card, stamped the sentiment and layered all elements on my blue base card as shown before finishing off by adding some glitter.

Vintage Lovers Cards

I did have a play with stamps yesterday but the bin came off best so I gave that up as a bad job and reverted to Ignacio's Nicecrane images, to be honest they are a God send just lately and enable me to keep crafting with the minimum stamping.

Here are a couple of shares, one of which below is an anniversary card for our Daughter and SIL whose Anniversary was yesterday.......and it's ours today !! The top card uses an image from the Victorian French Postcards, Graphic 45 DP's which lend themselves so well to these images and flowers made using Tonic punch and stamp Peruvian Lily set which I shaded slightly with Pan Pastels.

Soooo stunning vintage Lovers Cards.......by Brenda

This is the Anniversary card, I think this image is so perfect for the occasion and our Daughter loved it, I think as a Humanities teacher it appealed to her love of all things Historical. It uses an image from the Victorian Lovers French Postcards, again Graphic 24 Secret Garden DP's, ribbon, a button and cord.

Colorful Nature Sheet & Vintage Happy Christmas Cards

Another card for the playground

Sally loves Nature and birds so she did this colorful and amazing bird card: After a very hectic week, I am staggering back to blogland with a final entry for Di's snippet playground challenge.

This a bit bright for a Friday night?! I loved the colours in the topper, which is another from Nicecrane designs. You can find this on the Colourful Bature Collage sheet, which I love! I found a snippet of yellow card that matched the yellow Hammer and the blue snippet was the right shade of stormy sky. To dull down the yellow a little I over stamped it with the worn paint stamp from Inkylicious in Stormy sky DI. Two more snippets to mat and layer and a snippet of ribbon too. This is my third time in the playground in a fortnight - put the flag out Miss Di! Fingers crossed that I am in with a chance of winning that water drops stamp! Thanks for looking!

A Vintage Happy Christmas

Showing you my new Vintage Christmas Collections,,,and all over all you can do it with these new sheets, take alok to the work by Margreet at my DT :For this Vintage Christmas card I have used papers from my new paper bloc which i bought during my stay in Los Angeles. These papers are so warm colored and the backs are plain kraft. All edges are distressed. The flower is made out of felt with an old Marianne Design that and I put a brad with the same color in the middle. The image used is from the Happy Christmas by Bowley CS  from NiceCrane  Designs.

Pictures included on my new Sheet.

COLOR IT BY YOURSELF

Toni also was working with this sheet but with a different style,,,,coloring my B/ W Digita Stamp.Sitting on my work table along with my favourite pens - my Copic Ciaos. Most of the colouring has been done on the three cute little moppets getting ready to hang their stockings up for Santa...

...and most of the background has been given just a hint of colour to create a 'washed' effect.

I cut two 8.25inch squares of smooth white CS - scored 1inch in from the 'spine' edge on both pieces and then joined the two pieces together by placing DST down the spine edge...

...the front of the card was covered with a sheet of 8x8inch PP from the Craftwork Cards collection "Christmas Post" and I also punched out some of the die-cut poinsettias from the same collection. The spine had two eyelets added and some satin ribbon threaded through. The image was mounted on red textured metallic paper.I love pearls and doilies and there are always some to be found in my stash...

This is the finished card...by Toni

...which has stuck to fairly traditional colours...

...and as you can see, the embellishments give texture and depth to the card.

WHAT ABOUT WORKING IN B/W ?

Autumnal Part Two (Nicecrane Designs)

Jenny was working with my new "Vintage Butterfly Cards" and she did this amazing cretion :Hi everyone and wow! Can't believe how many comments came flooding in for my last post in such a short space of time - thank you everyone. Ironing done - check, washing up done - check, lads ready and off to school - check, dog sorted - check, FB updated - check. Next on the list is my third autumnal card (as promised) this time using a lovely digital image from Nicecrane Designs as a focal point.

This one is a bit of a balance of the more minimal (well, design-wise at least!) with texture.

I kept it simple with the digital image; just some light distressing with ink and some Rennaisance Treasure Gold gilding wax on the edges. This painted image came from a wonderful set from Nicecrane Designs called Vintage Butterflies Cards.

You've seen the master board background already. This time I rubbed a touch more Rennaisance Treasure Gold gilding wax over the stencilled leaves to give them a copper glint.

Where would I be without Tim Holtz' Simple Sayings?! You never know when you are going to need an emergency card for a friend in need so it pays to have some in stock.

And finally the tattered floral flowers with copper centres, and my take on a 'rusted copper' butterfly. It's amazing what you can do with mixed embossing powder.

Do check out Ignacio's range of digital designs at Nicecrane Designs - he has something in the store to suit everyone. I'll be back later with my last minute TH tag entry (it's on the 'to do' list). Until then take care of yourselves and have a great week. Hugs, Jenny x
