Astrid  Maclean did this adorable  and so unique  Vintage Tag with my "The Talking Clock Pack"

Hello everyone, welcome to the next installment of the Tag a Day project. So here is tag no.7 which also serves as a DT project for Nicecrane Designs.

The background was created with various Distress Paints and Inks. The background stamping was done with one of the Metallic Paints. The sweet little central image is from the Talking Clock Pack I coloured the image with Distress Inks. Here is a close up of this sweet little image, one of 8  images. The pack contains two collage sheets so you get 16 images in all.

The three largest of the flowers were made with the Tattered Florals die and a Heartfelt Creations die.

The banner at the top is from the Tattered Banners and the sentiment was computer generated.
Well, there you are, 5 more tags to go and then I guess I'll have to make a cover. I keep thinking that the top of the tags looks bare without a ribbon, but I guess it will be alright when it's tied together in a book.

Single Picts included on the Pack:

And here Margreet' s Victorian Art Card

I own the papers for ages and didn't know how to use them until I saw this image. For the edges I used the Tim Holtz distresser. The frame and swirl are Marianne Design and the corner ornament Joy!crafts. For the flower I used my retro punch and I used some designpaper and some papers of an old book, stuck them on each other and put a pearl flower on top. I distressed the edges with Iced Spruce. I made the bow out of lace and gaze, put another pearl flower on top and hung a sailing boat charm on it. Well, I hope you like my card. I made it with pleasure.

Twelvetrees Babies, Amazing Butterflies & Adorable Kids

I was designing more Digi Stamps based on Twelvetrees illustrations, I really adore this author,,,so here is my new "Twelvetrees Babies DSL", I asked to some DT members to create some adorable cards and here is thier work.  First of all take a look to the amazing work by Lori:

Caretaker of Wonder

This very night,
while you lie in your bed,
open your eyes.
Now, look out the window!
For even at this yawning hour,
so many of your friends
are working to keep
the world magical.

That's the opening of Caretakers of Wonder by Cooper Edens

(Darn, I  just found out when linking this book that it is now out of print.)  I absolutely love this book.  It was always a joy to share it with my students, who would ask to hear it again and again.  My daughter loved it, too. It's about some of the mysteries and wonders of our world and how it's important to take care of it.  The story seems magical - about those who button up the night against the cold and keep the sky and horizon tightly fastened to each other.   And the one's that collect yesterday's raindrops and mend old clouds.

This little sweetie reminded me of the Caretakers of Wonder.  (In the original image, he is painting words in the sky.  I took the words out and decided that he is taking care of painting the sky blue and hanging the clouds.)

I don't know why he's doing these things with a bare bottom, but I guess little baby bottoms are cute!

I'm still coughing!! the ribs are feeling very sorry for themselves Yikes!!! Hopefully it will settle down soon!! Well today I would Love to share an Adorable image from Nicecrane designs...The images over at the blog  & store HERE are simply Fabulous....

May fro my DT also was working with this new Digi Stamp,,,,,and she did this exquisite Heart Tag,,,,what a amazing creativity,,,,,,I love this new creation,,,,,,,Horayyyyyy for May.

I coloured this little cute image with flexi-markers.. the background has been stamped with assorted stamps & some washi tape & the paper is from Pinkpaislee... I used distress inks, frayed burlap, peacock feather, broken china...the muslin cloth & lace ribbon  I dyed in some coffee to get the aged effect,  the metal embellishments are from my stash...

DO YOU LOVE BUTTERFLIES?
Jenny was working with my new "Garden & Orchad Cs" and she did this absolutely  Stunning creation ,, it is a must have study for any crafter.
I received an email from Ignacio of Nicecrane Designs with the most beautiful digital images and the need to put them to use was positively overwhelming.

So here's what I did with some of them, utterly inspired by Trace Metcalfe's Saturday Step by Step tutorial at Frilly and Funkie HERE. Oh, and before I go on Anne (HERE) and Rosie (HERE) have also been inspired by Trace's tutorial. Those are the one's I'm aware of, but there may well be more:)

There were a few differences between mine and the original masterpiece; I used white corrugated card as a base and added fragments from the printed images and a piece of dry embossed cardstock. It was all dry brushed with white gesso and some DS Antique Linen before white texture paste was stencilled over and layers of DP Picket Fence and Renaissance Treasure Gold were brushed on.

Initially I was nervous about painting over the image fragments but the colours and detail are sharp enough that they can take this kind of alteration in their stride. Adding clear embossed butterflies from the same design sheet created a great contrast. The background consisted of embossed card/vellum with Treasure Gold applied, and a layer of lace with PVA pearl dots to highlight it. This feels rather shabby chic and I've completely fallen in love with these digital images. And as I was inspired to create this by Trace it fits with

I must tell you about some sad news,,,,,I received from Sandra Dow from my Dt "  On Saturday I had to euthanize my beautiful and very precious Yorkshire Terrier Lucy. She had been ill for a couple of months and was only recently diagnosed with Leukemia which was the catalyst for us in making this dreaded and most difficult decision.

So she asked me to create an scrapbook card to remember its funny and beloved little dog.......and at the end I have finished my scrabook card,,,,,so she can frame it and remember all good moments,,,,,sorry to hear these news Sandra,,, I am sure Lucy is on heaven and playing again my friend:

In memory of Lucy.........my tribute to all these amazing little friends.

Welcome to Carole to my DT

I must also tell you Carole is now on my DT and asked her to create some funny artcraft with my "The Charming of ML. Attwell DSL " and you can't miss her incredible work:

I have been asked to join the design team for Nicecrane Designs, which is owned by a lovely guy called Ignacio. I was thrilled to be asked and am in the best company as my lovely blog friend Anne, Redanne has also just joined the team...

You can view the Nicecrane site here, but he specialises in vintage ephemera collage sheets for card-making and paper craft and also digital stamps. I will mostly be creating projects colouring the stamps and here are my first two projects:

These are digital stamps of images by the British artist/illustrator Mabel Lucie Attwell (1879-1964). She is most well known for her quirky, nostalgic drawings of babies and children, based on her own daughter Peggy. Her style is very much that of the 'British Postcard' and indeed many of her illustrations were used on postcards and advertisements.

For my first project I decided to make an easel card with a drawer and as the little girl is off to do some painting, I thought it would make a good pencil or crayon box for a child. I coloured this with Inktense pencils that I got at Ally Pally, they are superb and yes, very intense! I also stuck to the colours in the original artwork as much as possible. Mabel Lucie Attwell's work was used for illustration and posters so it was very much block coloured, with no shading, so quite easy in a way but very different to what I'm used to when colouring LOTV stamps, for example.

The box was made from a template (also an Ally Pally purchase) and the papers are vintage papers by Pink Petticoat.

My second project is a card with  Cinderella themed artwork and this time I used a different colouring medium again - drawing inks! I was given some for my birthday and hadn't had a chance to use them, so I decided to give them ago..wow they were lovely to use!

Again I used a very similar colour theme as the original artwork. The papers are by Graphic 45 and the stamp, Sam Poole.

Finally Julia,,,from DT at Crafting by Designs Callenge Blog
did this sweet and colorful card

Lori Hairston was working with my funny and sweet " Mother Goose collection" and she did this amazing Bookplate for charlotte. I adore hher coloring and incredible creativity.

Something we always do is read - Dr. Suess, Mother Goose, Golden Books... I read to Lauren from the very first day we brought her home and I see reading as bonding and learning. My first gift to Charlotte (even before she was born) was books! When I first saw this image from a Mother Goose collection at Nicecrane Designs, I thought "that would make a darling bookplate!" This collection is available in its original form (already colored) as well.

Bookplates for Charlotte

I framed the original and Charlotte has a nifty little decoration for her bookshelf!

I colored one up and then thought "oh, no! I don't want to color a zillion more!" Even though it was fun to color. You've probably already figured out the solution, but I had to think about it for awhile.

Scanner+Computer+Sticker Paper = Easy Bookplates!
I scanned in my colored image and reproduced it to get six on a page, added the text, and printed it out on sticker paper. Cut apart the bookplates and wow, that was really easy!

Here's one of the bookplates in action - making sure everyone knows this book belongs to Charlotte!

Isn' t it soooo adorable and unique presentation?,,,,,,horayyyyyyy for Lori.

I must tell you all,,,now Redanne is now in my DT,,,,and she did a vintage and sweet Tag with my new
"The Charming of M.L. Attwell DSL" , I love her colorization and all over her creativity....welcome on board Anne,,I was sure you would do a great work.

Stunning Tag by Redanne

I printed the image onto white card and coloured it with my Derwent Inktense (watersoluble) Ink Pencils.  I coloured the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink to give a really vintage look and then distressed it further with my distressing tool and then curled the edges slightly.
I cut a tag shape from some corrugated card and I added some torn Kraft card to the top (a technique inspired by the work of my talented blog friend Trace).  I painted the layers very lightly with Fresco Finish paint in Mocha Mousse and Vintage Lace and then distressed the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I mounted my finished image on top. To add even more to the ageing I took some Vintage Photo Distress Stain on a paint brush and lightly flicked some onto the picture.
To finish off I added some parcel string with a shell charm, to follow the beach theme, which was coloured with Antiqued Bronze Distress Paint.   To the top I added some vintage seam binding which was coloured with Vintage Photo Distress Stain and tied this into a double bow.  Finally, I added Tim Holtz chit chat words 'create art'.
