Incredible Kids , British Playing Cards & Flowers

Lisa Minckler did an adorable and unique card working with my new:
Absolutely Incredible Kids DSL.....she colored it so funny, so cute
I really love this card.:

Inspiration and Ingenuity...

I have a very precious image today from Nicecrane Designs. This image is one of 4 in a set and details two young boys building their derby car from nothing but scraps and a dream. I loved all the images, but found this one to be most depicting of inspiration and motivation. A few masculine textures and embellishment, paired with an embossed sentiment and here's a card to help encourage perseverance.

Vintage Mementos Box

Welcome back to my little spot in the blogosphere! I have an altered paper mache box to share with you today that features Vintage British Playing Cards from Nicecrane Designs. This is the second project in a row that my DD snatched as soon as it was finished. Do you think she's a fan of Nicecrane Designs? lol
I applied ephemera paper to my box and used Faber Castell Pitt Pens in dark sepia & raw umber to shade and age my paper. There are four images of vintage women on these playing cards and I imported them to Microsoft Word where I sized them to 2.5" x 3.5" (standard playing card size). I fussy cut them out and all of the edges were inked with antique linen distress ink and applied to the box with Plaid's Mod Podge. I chose various embellishments by Bo Bunny & Prima to adorn the front and I did the same for the inside cover. The wild rose is handmade and the Queen Elizabeth brad is a nod to the British nature of these cards. The inside of the box will be used to store my daughter's mementos from our travels and special events. She collects and keeps everything so I may have to make a few more of these. ;-) I wanted her to be able to close the box as it will be stuffed when she fills it with her treasures. A combo of a Zutter Hang-it-All and Tim Holtz swivel clasp works perfectly and adds to the vintage feel.
And she did also  this Matching Memo Bags......wow,woww,wowww

The memo bags are pre made paper gift bags which I purchased from Taylored Expressions. They are a bit contemporary so to age them I went over each one with vintage photo distress ink and attached the vintage playing card with a Tim Holtz memo pin. I stamped a notebook image on the back so she can easily list the contents of the bag. I received not one but two big hugs from her which made my day. :D

If you are a fan of vintage images you will love the digital collage sheets and scrapbook products offered at Nicecrane Designs. Happy shopping everyone and thanks for visiting me today!

Mojo Monday #257-The layers are the key.  I started with a sentiment circle from Nice Crane Designs. I colored in my partridge with pencils, sponged Tim Holtz distress ink (berry & brown) and then taped on top of green designer paper.

I used 2 Christmas designer papers left over from last year. Added strips of matching green, beige & black in the middle.  I had a beige snowflake. I sponged the same distress inks on it, embossed with SU Iridescent Ice & added to the corners.  Tied a knot in some Raffia & glued it on.

Karen also was working with my:

Piramyd Digi Style Sheets

To create this stunning layered card:

Every morning when I wake up I am blessed. (smiling)
God, in his infinite mercy promises eternal happiness to those who accept him as their Savior and Lord. I am amazed  that everyone doesn't choose to know God  personally. My heart swells with happiness, my eyes tear up, my lips sing at knowing He has delivered me!  thank you Lord!

Wondering what it is?  It's called a Pyramid Digi Stamp.  It's just one of the unique things
you'll find @ our sponsors site @ Nice Crane Designs

The minute Fussy & Fancy let me know that the challenge was Back to School, my head went to these glorious images from Nicecrane Designs.

This set is called A Child's Garden of Verses (taken from a version of Robert Louis Stevenson's collection of poetry for children illustrated by Jessie Willcox Smith).  Usually, I would take an actual stamp over a digi any day of the week, but for these I was prepared to make an exception!

I think they're completely adorable.  It's really worth a visit to the Nicecrane store and blog if you've never been, because there are so many amazing images to play with, and lots of inspiration.
