Fascinating Bessie Gutmann Inspiration

Mitra Lee was working with my Fascinating Bessie Guttman CS Collection.....
So I am showing you her stunning and all over cretive works directly from her blog

First of all her Altered Frosted Bottle

So a while back I fell in love with a bottle of blue cheese dressing. Of course, it was that I had discovered that I actually LIKED the store brand blue cheese at Walmart. Being both cheap and good, it was awesome.

BUT I must admit the bottle caught my eye first.

Do you ever buy groceries with the intent of reusing the netting or container?  Please tell me I am not the only freak on this earth that does that.

Here is a close up so you can see the image with the shells I used on the bottom.

And one more photo so you can see what I did to the image. I had originally printed this image out on plain old printer paper and covered ever so gently with modge podge. Things will run if you aren't careful. Lucky for me, it only ran just a bit when I added the crackle glue and gave me this water colored look. Very sea like you think???
I am showing you now the original pict used by Mitra Lee:

.......But That is not all.........
She did another amazing creation with this collection:
what about this unique Bessie Frame ?

Goodness gracious I love this frame.

LOVE LOVE LOVE that butterfly. It is an old Stampin' Up Set I have had forever and I stamped it on a piece of photo paper with Stayzon brown ink. Then used some photo markers I had to color it, then spritzed it with some glimmermist to get the colors to run a bit. How it turned out made me really happy.

And here is a close up of a little framed image I included. It is from Nice Crane Designs and is called the Fascinating Bessie Gutman. LOVE all the little images in this collection. The beach image I'll be using on my next project. THANKS IGNACIO, YOU ROCK!

Wowww, wowww, woww,,, Mitra Lee is now on the Team,,,,,and I am showing you the STUNNING ALTERED WIZARD OF OZ FRAME SHE DID........SO ADORABLE AND UNIQUE

Directly from her blog:
Altered Wizard of Oz Frame Using Nicecrane Design Images
SERIOUSLY LOVE THIS FRAME.

I have friends in high places, happy dance!!!

My crafting diva friend Lisa from Kansas hooked me up with Nice Crane Designs and Ignacio sent me these babies to use.

So, got a little set of graphics RIGHT IN MY INBOX to use and print at whatever size I wanted. OH LOVE DIGITAL. Do you not LOVE those graphics behind my oval frame vintage from Wizard of Oz books? Here is what I got!
FREAK!

Let me show you a before photo of the frame!

This was not quite as pretty when I spotted this frame in the second hand store.

It originally had a lovely inset burgundy velvet with a horrible plate hot glued right smack dab in the center. And, right at the second hand store (BEST FRIENDS in Potsdam) my buddy Tim look out the center part and sold me just the frame. Hence not stuck with super ugly thing that I would just have to throw out. Hope someone else "loved" it!

So, nothing for me to do but get home and add some canvas. (And don't be eye ballin' up that new bird cage I also found...that comes LATER)

I added gesso and some glimmermist to get a cool background. Here is a close up if you can look past the lovely flowers!

A little Prima flower tucked in there with one of Irini's new flowers. I will link you up to her store here if you want to check out her lovely knitted flowers yourself.
And, here is my center frame that I also recycled and painted. No before photos of this, but I added some gold alcohol ink, some glimmermist, and also some modge podge. HOW do you love that little itty bitty ruby slipper broach!
Here is another shot of Irini's lovely pink flower with the cream center. The variegated yarn really makes me happy with the super sweet center!
AND, here is my quote so you don't gotta squint!
“You have plenty of courage, I am sure," answered Oz. "
All you need is confidence in yourself. There is no living thing
that is not afraid when it faces danger. The true courage is in
facing danger when you are afraid, and that kind of courage
you have in plenty.”
 L. Frank Baum
